In H1 2026, Japan imported 231,000 m³ of Russian sawn timber, down 23% YoY. Russian structural plywood imports hit zero in June. Structural plywood imports plunged 34% to just 10,000 m³, with the EU dominating Japan's supply (76%) while China holds only 10%. The gap left by Russian wood awaits new suppliers.
