The interior is made of a single piece of wood, without lining or unnecessary decoration; you can engrave your name, date, or a phrase only you two understand on the lid.

Both the box body and lid are made of North American black walnut, with a deep brown heartwood often tinged with purple. The grain varies, some pieces are straight, others wavy, and it's rare to find two identical pieces from the same batch. The boards are dried and cured before being cut, with beveled edges and hand-sanded. A thin layer of wood wax oil is applied, leaving the wood's natural warmth rather than the gloss of a lacquer finish. Dimensions are determined by intended use: the inner diameter allows for a 5-10 mm margin depending on the contents, and the length, width, and depth are adjustable.

The lid is held open by two brass hinges, opening and closing smoothly and stopping at any angle. A single brass latch on the front closes quietly, with a firm yet controlled fit. The interior is bare wood, without lining or unnecessary decoration-photographs, letters, ticket stubs, and souvenirs can be placed directly inside without scratching the wood. Additional slots and movable dividers can be added to secure photos or create compartments.

The lid can be laser-engraved: handwritten names, dates, a short phrase, or a line drawing of a flower, with the depth following the wood grain, so there's no need to worry about fading.
