China Imported Radiata Pine Market: H1 2026 Snapshot

China imported 8.615 million m³ of radiata pine in H1 2026, down 2.4% YoY, with average prices nearly flat (-0.7%). While overall softwood log imports slumped 7.47% (Jan-Apr), radiata pine outperformed white pine (-28.4%) and Douglas fir (-24.8%), cementing its market dominance.

CFR quotes peaked at $125-130/m³ in March-April before retreating to $121-130 in June. Domestic port prices in Shandong and Jiangsu hovered around RMB 750-820/m³.

New Zealand exporters expect China to keep pricing power in H2, with inventory overhang and weak construction demand capping upside. For wooden packaging manufacturers, stable raw material costs create a favorable window to expand pine-based product lines - including our custom pinewood lid-base gift boxes now in full launch.
