1. The material used for a wooden jewelry box affects its price and quality. Common jewelry boxes are made of beech, white oak, ash, elm, catalpa, rubberwood, and oak. More expensive jewelry boxes are primarily made of rosewood, wenge, and sandalwood.

2. Open the box and drawers of a wooden jewelry box to observe whether the wood is dry and whether the texture is dense and fine, thus judging the quality of the wood. The main load-bearing parts of the jewelry box, such as the uprights and the load-bearing crossbars near the ground connecting the uprights, should not have large knots or cracks. The structure should be sturdy, the frame should not be loose, and there should be no broken pieces.

3. Examine the wood grain and knots to determine if the wooden jewelry box is made of solid wood. Additionally, examining the knots on the wooden boards is a good way to identify solid wood; if there are knots on one side, check the other side for corresponding scars.
